The Israeli authorities prevented 210 Palestinian citizens from leaving the West Bank through the Karama border crossing with Jordan in January, the only exit point to the outside world and back for West Bank Palestinians, the Palestinian police said on Monday.
The Israeli authorities returned 210 Palestinians from the border crossing back to the West Bank and prevented them from traveling for “security reasons”, the police added in a statement.
One hundred and forty passengers travelled through Karama in January, with a generally average movement of passengers throughout the month, the police statement said.
Israel sent back 2000 Palestinian passengers from the same crossing in 2015, also over “security reasons”.
