Russia, Syria use Israeli drones

Syrian and Russian forces use Israeli drones during their operations against opposition fighters in Syria, Israeli media has reported.

Israeli news website Yedioth Ahronoth reported that pictures captured in Syria show the drones being used, adding that Israel sold them to Russia.

Meanwhile Israel’s News24 said that Israel sold these planes to Russian on condition it not sell the S300 defence system to Iran. However, Russian violated the understanding.

News24 also said that the Israeli technology has become a tool in the hands of Syrian regime and Hezbollah used against the Syrian opposition since the start of the Russian intervention in the region.

The Jerusalem Post also said that a year after fighting began in Syria, Turkish sources told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper that Turkish intelligence had identified Israeli drones being used on Syrian soil.
