Former Egyptian MP Tawfik Okasha questioned for spying

Ousted Egyptian MP Tawfik Okasha is to be questioned over espionage claims on 22 March, Alamatonline.com reported.

Okasha was ousted from the parliament in the wake of his meeting with the Israeli ambassador to Cairo.

At the end of February, a complaint was filed by Hamada Awadin accusing Okasha of spying on Egypt in favour of Israel.

The complainant called for striping Okasha’s parliamentary immunity, banning him from travel and bringing him to court on charges of “espionage with a foreign country.”
