Ammon news agency reported that the Jordanian police shut down an unlicensed Muslim Brotherhood headquarters in Amman and sealed off the building on Wednesday after receiving orders from the Amman governor.
According to official sources that spoke to Ammon, the closure is due to the fact that the group still has not rectified its situation.
Zaki Bani Irshaid, the movement’s deputy in Jordan, also confirmed that a security force shut down the Brotherhood headquarters based on the orders issued by the governor of Amman, but did not mention any reasons for this.
Muslim Brotherhood Spokesman Muath Al-Khawalda said in a statement to Ammon that the group was notified of the decision to shut down the headquarters only shortly before it happened, claiming that the decision did not state any clear reasons for doing so.
Al-Khawalda also condemned the way the headquarters was raided and how the main door was broken down and the office sealed after being evacuated.
