Fishermen in the city of Jaffa are holding a demonstration outside the Ministry of Agriculture following the authorities’ decision to ban them from fishing for two months.

Residents were encouraged to join in the protest. Fishermen will be provided no compensation for their lack of earnings during the ban, while those found breaking the ministry’s instructions will be fined.

Fishermen believe this is part of the government’s plan to uproot them from the port in Jaffa.
