Arab League to set unified Arab stance against Israeli escalation in Golan

Arab League members took part in an emergency meeting yesterday to discuss Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement regarding the occupied Golan Heights.

Chaired by Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt and Bahrain’s permanent representative at the Arab League, Sheikh Rashid Bin Abdul Rahman Al Khalifa, the meeting was attended by Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Al-Arabi.

It is hoped a unified stance can be agreed upon regarding Netanyahu’s claims that the Golan Golan “will remain under Israel’s sovereignty permanently.”

Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain requested the meeting.
