Egypt, Kuwait conclude joint air exercise

The Egyptian army yesterday announced the conclusion of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti joint air force training dubbed Al-Yarmouk 2 which began on 10 April in Kuwait.

Egyptian military spokesman Mohamed Samir said the drill included practical applications, tactical manoeuvres, joint air operations, command and control and fire support.

Egyptian F-16s and Kuwaiti F-18s participated in the drill, he added.

In an earlier statement, Samir said the training “aims to support and promote military cooperation and coordination between the Air Forces of both countries and measure their readiness to carry out joint operations against hostile targets.”
