A militant organisation in Cairo which is affliated to Daesh yesterday claimed responsibility for an attack that killed eight Egyptian police officers in Greater Cairo.
The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that four gunmen with automatic weapons disembarked from a pick-up truck and shot policemen who were riding a police vehicle in the Hilwan suburb.
The victims included a police lieutenant and seven other policemen who were on patrol in the area, it said.
