Davutoglu to witness marriage of Erdogan’s daughter

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan surprised Turkish politicians and journalists by asking former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to be one of the witnesses to his daughter’s marriage on Saturday, the Huffington Post reported yesterday.

Erdogan also called former Turkish President Abdullah Gul and invited him to attend the ceremony.

In the invitation, Erdogan asked invitees who wish to give the couple a gift to make a donation to the armed forces, police or the families of martyrs.

Turkish media reported that the wedding ceremony will be held in a hall which is large enough for 6,000 guests.
