A government committee said on Friday that it has documented 5,865 breaches of the ceasefire by the Houthis and their allies, The New Arabs reported.
The ceasefire started on 10 April and it stipulated that all parties halt the fighting in preparation for talks to end the conflict.
The document included breaches of the ceasefire until 19 May and was distributed by the Kuwait-based military and security committee which is entitled to follow the situation on the ground.
According to the document, the breaches resulted in 156 deaths, left 729 people injured and destroyed 12 houses, displacing 15 people. The breaches took place in seven governorates, including areas in Sana and Taiz.
The committee consists of representatives from the Yemeni government and the Houthis and their allies, in addition to UN supervisors. They issue daily reports about the breaches to the UN.
In a previous statistic issued by the government, more than 3,200 breaches were documented until the end of April. The New Arab reported that the Houthis breached the ceasefire around 4,000 times during the first three weeks.
Despite the huge number of the breaches, the UN representative has several times announced that the ceasefire is 80 per cent successful.
