An Israeli diplomatic delegation secretly arrived in Egypt on Sunday following an invitation by Egyptian President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi, Israeli media reported.
According to AlKhaleejOnline, the delegation was headed by Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Ministry’s Middle East Division Aviva Raz Shechter.
No more information emerged about the visit, but the delegation was due to meet senior Egyptian officials in preparation for a meeting between Al-Sisi, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in a bid to revive the peace process.
