Hamas: Lieberman’s inclusion in Israeli government indicates ‘increasing extremism’

Hamas said that it considered the inclusion of the head of the Yisrael Beiteinu Avigdor Lieberman to the Israeli government an indication of “increasing extremism and racism”, the Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.

In a statement, Hamas called for the international community to bear its responsibility towards this issue.

Meanwhile, Hamas called for those who believe in the ability to normalise relations with Israel to stop believing in “illusions”, reminding them of Lieberman’s “racist” history and policy.

Lieberman is to be sworn in as the country’s defence minister on Monday following the resignation of Moshe Ya’alon who said that extremism, violence and racism were threatening Israeli society and had entered the army.
