Daesh carries out three suicide attacks against pro-government forces in Sirte

Daesh carried out three suicide car bombings on Sunday against forces loyal to the national unity government, southeast of the city of Sirte, a security source revealed.

One bomber in a car blew himself up a few metres away from a group of pro-government forces near the Abu Hadi roundabout in the city’s southeast. The other bombers targeted a field hospital in the west of the city.

According to Associated Press, at least one paramedic was killed and a dozen wounded.

Pro-government forces announced on Saturday that they had tightened control over key facilities in Sirte following fierce battles with Daesh militants.

Pro-government forces began a military operation over a month ago against Daesh in the north-central area of Libya.

Daesh gained control of Sirte in January 2015.
