Israel prevents Palestinians from West Bank entering Jerusalem

Israeli forces prevented hundreds of Palestinians coming from the West Bank from entering Jerusalem this morning to pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Men under the age of 45 were not allowed to enter the city, despite having special permits to do so.

Palestinians began to queue at the Qalandia checkpoint from the early hours of dawn in the hopes of getting through the security checks to enter occupied Jerusalem.

Men over the age of 60 were allowed to travel from the Gaza Strip to visit Al-Aqsa Mosque for prayers.
