Tunisia extended the state of emergency in the country for another month yesterday.

After consultation with Prime Minister Habib Essid and Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al-Nasser, President Beji Caid Essebsi declared a state of emergency across Tunisia for one month, starting from 21 June, according to a statement released yesterday.

Essebsi had initially declared a state of emergency on 24 November 2015 after a suicide bombing that targeted a presidential guard’s bus killing 12 and injuring 17.
