Six hospitals no longer functional due to regime bombings in Aleppo

The directorate of health in Aleppo said on Sunday that six hospitals are no longer functional in the city as a result of the bombing by Syrian regime forces.

A statement issued by the directorate said the hospitals of Al- Bayan, Dakak al- Jirahi, Al- Hakeem, Al- Sayda Al- Zahraa and a blood bank are out of service, making the medical staff unable to help those wounded.

The statement said: “The targeting of hospitals coincides with the violent and barbaric bombing against the city and the inability of any medicine to enter the stricken city, due to the embargo imposed on it.”

The statement appealed to friendly countries and humanitarian organisations to intervene and stop the attacks.

The statement described the attacks against the city as “tantamount to genocide” and called on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards them.

The Syrian regime’s forces and allied Russian fighter jets have been bombing the rebel held city for 17 days, leaving hundreds dead and more wounded.
