Pakistan, Iran agree to cooperate in fight against Daesh

Pakistan and Iran have agreed to enhance cooperation in the fight against extremism and terrorism particularly the threat posed by Daesh, Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper reported yesterday.

The newspaper said the two countries have also agreed to enhance cooperation in politics, trade, economy and security during the ninth round of political consultation held in Tehran on Saturday.

A statement by the Pakistani Foreign Office said the two sides also reviewed the regional situation as well as opportunities offered by enhanced connectivity for transit trade.
