Delegation of Houthi negotiators visit Iraq

A delegation of negotiators representing Yemen’s Houthi movement arrived in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Monday for an official visit. The group is expected to be in Iraq for several days, during which a meeting will be held with Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari.

Local sources in Iraq said that the visit is part of a tour of several countries in the region to explain the latest developments in Yemen and the outcome of the negotiations in Kuwait.

The Houthi negotiators have been staying in the Omani capital Muscat since leaving Kuwait almost three weeks ago. The Saudi-led coalition of Arab states have imposed a ban on civilian flights to Yemen, making it difficult for the group to return to their country.
