Hamas’ military wing Al-Qassam Brigades said yesterday that the issue of the Israeli soldiers who went missing in Gaza during the Israeli offensive on the coastal enclave in 2014 is “sensitive”, Paltimes reported.
“The issue of the enemy soldiers who are imprisoned by the Palestinian resistance is sensitive, complicated and of high concern for Al-Qassam leadership,” spokesman Abu-Obaida said.
“This file has dues and prices and this is an open battle with the enemy at all levels. Therefore, there is no room for journalists’ uncalculated expectations.”
Meanwhile, he stressed that the leadership of Al-Qassam Brigades runs this issue “efficiently and responsibly, but away from site.”
Yesterday, Palestinian news agency Safa, hinted that one of the Israeli soldiers is alive.
It reported a credible anonymous source close to Hamas saying that Oron Shaul “fainted” when he watched the funeral of his father, who died on Friday.
About a month ago, Shaul’s family said it had “credible” information that he is alive.
