Russian authorities may place a temporary ban on the import of certain agricultural produce from Egypt, they warned today.
No details were given about which agricultural products would be affected, however the authority for monitoring food safety said the ban was because of Egypt’s “systematic violation of international requirements”.
This comes in light of a dispute after Egypt delayed approving a shipment of wheat from Russia.
Egypt is the world’s largest importer of wheat.
