Algerian forces found a cache containing a large amount of weapons and ammunition near the border province of Tamanrasset yesterday.
The Algerian Ministry of Defence said the cache contained a variety of weapons including six heavy machine guns, more than eight rifles, four pistols and 14 semi-automatic rifles.
Durign the operation, troops also discovered a quantity of ammunition including 12 hand grenades, 10 rockets and 10 mortar shells and over 7,000 bullet of different specifications, in addition to other weapons arsenal. The discovery came in the framework of anti-terrorism operations in the country.
Algerian forces had previously announced that “73 terrorists” had been killed while 111 have been held in the first five months of this year.
