Iran has sold the first two shipments, one of natural gas and the other crude oil, to two British companies, Reuters quoted an Iranian official saying.

Mohsen Ghamsari, the director of international affairs at the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said yesterday: “A cargo of one million barrels of natural gas condensate was delivered to BP.”

Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency quoted Ghamsari as saying: “National Iranian Oil Company has so far sold two shipments of crude oil and gas condensate to two British companies.”

“Negotiations are underway for NIOC to sign long-term contracts with BP and Royal Dutch Shell,” Ghamsari said, according to Reuters.
