Islamic Jihad invited to visit Egypt

Palestinian movement Islamic Jihad yesterday announced that it had received an official invitation to visit Cairo and discuss the initiative recently made by its Secretary-General Ramadan Shalah, the Anadolu Agency reported.

Islamic Jihad leader Daud Shihab said that his movement accepted the invitation and a delegation, from chaired by Shalah, will visit Cairo. He did not give details about when the visit would take place.

On 21 October, Shalah announced a ten-point initiative to pave the way ahead of internal Palestinian reconciliation and reformation of the Palestinian political arena.

The most important point of Shalah’s initiative is to cancel the Oslo Accords between the PLO and the Israeli occupation signed in 1993.
