One hundred homes in the Gaza Strip are having their roofs fixed or reconstructed by the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.

The campaign, which costs $80,000, has been launched in preparation of the winter season, according to Hassan Al-Saifi, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf in Gaza.

The campaign aims to serve those in need who are suffering every winter from rain water leaking into their homes.

There are many of these cases in the Palestinian refugee camps. A home in Al-Shati Camp has already started to be built for the Filfil family living in the camp. They have expressed their joy and gratitude to the contributors for building a new roof for their home, as rainwater has damaged their home and furniture. The Filfil family currently use corrugated iron sheets as a makeshift solution.
