Iraqi counterterrorism forces yesterday withdrew, for the second time, from the Qadisiyah neighbourhood east of the city of Mosul, a few hours after storming it, an Iraqi officer reported.

Captain Mustafa Abdul-Zahra told the Anadolu Agency that Daesh has launched nearly five suicide attacks against the counterterrorism forces forcing them to withdraw.

The forces entered the area on Friday but had to withdraw the next day after Daesh fighrters targeted them with explosive rigged cars.

Following the anti-terrorism forces’ withdrawal from Qadisiyah neighbourhood, the militant group is reported to have burnt five houses claiming their occupants had cooperated with Iraqi forces, Anadolu quoted an unnamed source from the neighbourhood saying.
