Israeli soldiers yesterday stormed the Ras Al-Amoud neighbourhood of Silwan, in occupied East Jerusalem and kidnapped a young Palestinian man.

The army entered the towns of Hizma and Al-Issawiya towns and clashed with youngsters.

Several army jeeps entered Ras Al-Amoud, searched homes and kidnapped a former political prisoner, identified as Abed Ez Barbar.

Clashes also took place in many neighbourhoods in Al-Issawiya, where the army fired live rounds, rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and grenades.

Soldiers also detained four Palestinians in the Al-Arroub refugee camp, and Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, and in Hebron city.
