An Israeli soldier stationed at the border between Israel and Lebanon committed suicide by shooting himself on Wednesday, Israeli media reported yesterday.
Israeli news sites added that the soldier was taken to hospital but he died before arriving.
News reports added that the Israeli army opened an investigation to uncover the circumstances behind the soldier’s apparent suicide.
The identity of the soldier remains unknown.
An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed the death of the soldier and said investigations had been launched into the reason behind his actions. No further comments were made.
