Female Russian soldiers positioned in Aleppo are enjoying their time in the city, visiting local markets like “good citizens”, a local Syrian newspaper has claimed.

Al-Watan newspaper, loyal to the regime of Bashar Al-Assad, explained:

Although more than two months have passed since they came to the city, their knowledge of Arabic is very weak except for some basic words and their ability to speak foreign languages, such as English, is very limited making it difficult for them to communicate with the locals.

The newspaper claimed that locals believe the Russian officers are “good citizens” who work with dedication to serve their country.

A source told the newspaper that the female soldiers are working to encourage Syrian women to volunteer with the Syrian army or the local defence forces to serve the country.
