Russia: Assad will allow inspection of Shayrat base

The Russian defence ministry announced that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad is ready to allow international experts to inspect the Shayrat air base for signs of chemical weapons.

Russia Today news agency reported Colonel General Sergei Rudskoy of the Russian General Staff as saying yesterday that the Syrian government is ready to let international experts examine the base and that Russia will provide security for them.

Rudskoy said that Russia has information that Syrian armed groups are currently transporting toxic materials to Khan Sheikhoun, Jira airport, Eastern Ghouta and Western Aleppo.
