Israeli forces committed 31 violations against journalists in the Palestinian territories, the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported.

According to the report, Israeli forces shot 18 journalists last month. The report also documented 11 cases of arrests, detentions, confiscation of permits and shooting at journalists in addition to two attacks against press institutions and equipment.
The report also documented the Israeli forces’ banning of journalist Saber Nour Al-Din from Gaza City from traveling to receive the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Al-Raed Al-Maktoum International Photography Award.
It pointed out that the Israeli authorities continue to arrest a number of Palestinian journalists, including Mohammed Al-Qeq who was transferred out of Ramle prison hospital one day after his treatment ended.

The Israeli soldiers have attacked and beaten a number of journalists in Jerusalem who were reporting on a demonstration in support of Palestinian prisoners, while a cameraman was wounded by a rubber-coated metal bullet in his foot while covering a march in Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqiliya, the report said.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate has documented 66 new Israeli violations of press freedoms in the Palestinian occupied territories during the first quarter of 2017.

In an earlier statement to Quds Press, the General Coordinator of the Palestinian Centre for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA), Musa Al-Rimawi, said Israel is acting as a state above the law and enjoys protection which encourages it to commit further violations in order to prevent journalists from exposing its violations against Palestinians.
