A young Libyan has burnt himself to death in Martyrs’ Square in the centre of Tripoli, moheet.com has reported. The self-immolation took place in front of horrified onlookers as people gathered to exchange Eid greetings after the month of Ramadan.

According to the National Safety Authority in the Libyan capital, the man was transferred to the burns centre at a local hospital in a critical condition. No further information has been provided.
