Daesh militants have arrested a mother of two who claimed that she is the wife of Abu Baker Al-Baghdadi, Al-Somariyeh News TV station revealed yesterday.

According to an anonymous source, the militants were agitated by the incident in Al-Shirqat, in the north of Salahuddin Governorate. No reason was given for the woman’s detention.

Last week, media reports said that Daesh leader Al-Baghdadi had been killed in a Russian air strike. When they found out that the woman in question claimed to be the Daesh leader’s wife, senior officials from the group headed to Al-Shirqat in the hope that Al-Baghdadi is still alive.
