A roadblock was reportedly erected in Bouira, where a heavy weight truck was found containing an estimated 10.22 tonnes of white meat not accompanied by a veterinary certificate and visibly unfit for human consumption.

The load of meat was found to have come from the eastern part of the country to be sold in the capital. The meat was later destroyed in the presence of representatives of the Directorate of Trade and Veterinary Centre in the city Bouira.
