Israeli forces this morning demolished a two-story building in the occupied East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Issawiya.

Locals told Ma’an that Israeli police forces and crews from Israel’s Jerusalem Municipality, accompanied by bulldozers, stormed and surrounded the neighbourhood.

The bulldozers demolished a building containing shops on the ground floor and flats on the upper floors.

It remains unclear how many Palestinian families have been made homeless as a result of the demolition.

According to locals, the building was constructed ten years ago and belonged to Abdullah Hamdan.

A spokesperson for the Jerusalem Municipality was not immediately available to comment on the demolition.
