Egyptian human rights NGO responds HRW report on Egypt

Earlier this week Human Rights Watch released a report on the widespread, systematic torture practiced by Egyptian security forces that they said was likely to amount to crimes against humanity.

After Human Rights Watch released a report on the torture practiced by Egyptian forces, Egypt blocked the website amid a widespread media blackout campaign.

Using the testimonies of 20 former detainees and their families, the 63-page report catalogues human rights abuses carried out in the country and the impunity surrounding the officials who commit them.

Carl Arrindell interviews Ahmed El-Attar of the Egyptian Coordination for Rights and Freedoms human rights organisation based in London.
