Dozens of activists held protests in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires against visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who arrived ahead of a four-day tour of Latin America.

The Argentine police said in a statement that it had prepared a plan to prevent escalations.

Netanyahu will visit several countries in South America, including Argentina, Colombia and Mexico. He will also meet with the president of Paraguay who will be on a visit to Argentina at the same time.

Netanyahu said at the cabinet meeting on Sunday that the tour will strengthen economic, security and technological relations between Latin America and Israel.
