The Israeli occupation municipality in Jerusalem yesterday fined a number of bus drivers who carried Palestinian worshippers from Israel to the holy city, Quds Press reported.
Ghazi Issa, the director of the Al-Aqsa Association, said that five of the organisation’s buses carried worshippers from within Israel to perform prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He told Quds Press that three were fined under the pretext that they had been parked in a no-parking area in the neighbourhood of Wadi Al-Juz. Drivers however said there were no signs to indicate parking was not permitted in the area.
He noted that the tickets for the fines were stuck on the buses while the drivers and commuters were praying at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Wadi Al-Hilwa Information Centre recorded 15 buses had been fined.
