Sudanese Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour has advised Sudanese citizens not to travel illegally to Libya.
The minister made the statements following a closed parliamentary session yesterday to discuss the torture of Sudanese migrants in Libya.
Earlier in the day security forces affiliated with the internationally recognised Libyan Government of National Accord announced the arrest of “four people involved in the torture of Sudanese migrants”.
The Libyan Interior Ministry Special Deterrence Force announced in a statement on Facebook that eight Sudanese citizens who had been kidnapped, held hostage and tortured in Libya had been released.

“On an order from the Libyan Attorney General the four kidnappers were located in the town of Qadahiya, 130 kilometres southwest of Sirte, north of Libya. They were arrested in a joint operation with the local security forces,” it added.
The Sudanese foreign minister remarked on the release of the Sudanese hostages saying “the liberation operation took place in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Security and Intelligence Services, the Defence and Interior ministries and the Sudanese missions in Tripoli and Benghazi”.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations of the parliament of Sudan, Mutawakil Mahmoud Tijani, stressed that Sudanese citizens must not travel illegally to Libya.
