Kuwait’s National Assembly or Parliament on Tuesday passed a draft bill allowing “stateless people” to draft in the army.

Official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) said 44 lawmakers voted in favour of the bill, five lawmakers opposed it and one member abstained.

Article 1 of the bill states the army may temporarily accept non-Kuwaitis to draft through the secondment or contracting, upon conditions contained in a decree issued within three months from the date of implementing this law.
