Address by Professor Ahmed Al-Dubai at MEMO’s ‘Crisis in Saudi Arabia: War, Succession and the Future’ conference  held in London on November 18, 2017.

Al-Dubai is a Professor and the Director of the Postgraduate Research Degrees of the School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University. He has served as Guest Editor for over 20 special issues in scholarly journals and chaired and co-chaired over 30 International conferences and workshops. Al-Dubai is a Fellow of the British Higher Academy.

The making of the Kingdom and how we got here

This panel will examine the history of Saudi Arabia and discuss the current political, religious and economic structure of the Kingdom.  It will also assess the fault-lines, contradictions and tensions in Saudi society.
