The fifth convoy of Syrian people displaced from Homs countryside yesterday arrived in the northern provinces of Aleppo and Idlib; the Anadolu Agency reported.
According to the agency, the convoy included 54 buses and 160 civilian vehicles carrying 3,500 people who were distributed to temporary residence centres, schools and mosques.
With the new batch, the total number of displaced Syrians has reached 13,500.
Earlier this month, the Syrian opposition in Homs’ countryside accepted a Russian agreement to hand over the region to the Syrian regime following weeks of heavy bombardment and the use of chemical weapons to weaken the opposition.
