The White House has denied that President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner had a “stormy and abrupt meeting” with Kuwait Ambassador to Washington, Salem Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah, KUNA reported.

Reports had circulated that Kushner had hinted during the meeting that he had intervened to protect Kuwait from an economic blockade similar to the one imposed on Qatar.

A White House official said that Kushner and the Kuwaiti ambassador “had a very positive meeting at the White House and exchanged views about the Middle East peace process”. However after 30 minutes, Kushner had to leave for another pre-scheduled meeting with National Security Advisor John Bolton, the statement said adding that US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt concluded the meeting with the ambassador.
