Qatar’s Ambassador to the Palestinian Territories, Mohamed Al-Emadi, has met with Palestinian Authority and Fatah President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah to discuss mutual relations, Quds Net News reported on Tuesday.

The meeting is said to reflect a growing rapprochement bringing an end to the weak relations between Qatar and the PA, which began at the start of the Saudi-led siege imposed on the government in Doha. “The dangerous stage through which Palestine is passing,” said one local source, “is reflected in the new warmth in relations, as are preparations for the so-called ‘deal of the century’.”

According to the source, the meeting was “positive” and the two sides exchanged views related to developing PA-Qatar relations. Abbas, in fact, is set to visit Doha to meet Emir Tamim Bin Hamad to discuss the horizons of cooperation that would help to protect the Palestinian cause.
