Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman has decided to ban the work of Al-Quds satellite channel in Israel.

“Al-Quds channel is prohibited under Israeli anti-terrorism law,” a decision signed on 3 July read, according to the Anadolu Agency.

A channel broadcasts from Lebanon and has a correspondent in Jerusalem and another in Israel.

Israel has previously targeted Palestinian news agencies, printing presses and rights groups which actively highlight its repression of civilians. It has also worked with social media giants Facebook and Twitter to shut down the accounts of Palestinian officials and human rights activists.
