Israel and Syrian army officers have recently held three meetings in the occupied Golan Heights and discussed mutual issues, Quds Press reported yesterday.
According to sources reported by the Israeli i24 TV, the UN Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) and Russia also joined the meetings.
The two sides discussed issues of mutual concern as the battles in the Syrian areas near to the occupied Golan Heights are increasing. The Israeli occupation, i24 TV sources said, wanted to make sure that the Iranians in Syria would remain far from the borders.
However, the Israeli channel said the most dangerous issue for Tel Aviv is that the Syrian army units include members of Hezbollah and Iranian soldiers, some of them from the Revolutionary Guards.
According to the sources, Israel will not accept any violation or change in the deal of disengagement reached with Syria in 1974 and is still sticking to the latest Russian pledges to keep Iran and members of the militias loyal to it far from the Israel-occupied Golan Heights.
