Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Jaafari said all border crossings between Iraq and neighbouring countries will reopen.

Speaking at a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart, Gebran Bassil, Al-Jaafari said that Iraq has been able to defeat terrorism, but it remains a challenge throughout the region as a warning bell ringing from time to time.

“We look forward to the victory of peace and security,” Al-Jaafari added.

“I am happy to visit Lebanon to discuss common aspirations and interests in light of mutual visits between the citizens of both countries,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bassil expressed hope that a new Iraqi government is formed quickly, and that peace and dialogue will prevail in both countries.
