Mayor of the Israeli Municipality of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, yesterday raided the Palestinian refugee camp of Shuafat, located in the occupied holy city, Ma’an reported.

Fatah Spokesman in Jerusalem, Thaer Fasfous, said that Barkat raided the refugee camp and toured it near the illegal Israeli military checkpoint located in its main street.

Prior to this raid, an Israeli municipality team cleaned the streets.

A couple of days ago, Barakat announced a plan to end the UNRWA’s presence in the occupied city, including the closure of UN-run schools, healthcare centres, water and other waste departments.

It is worth noting that the US President Donald Trump has ordered that $25 million earmarked for the care of Palestinians in East Jerusalem hospitals be stopped.
