A Gulf country requested Israel sell it drones a few years ago but Tel Aviv refused after “careful consideration”, local broadcaster KAN revealed on Sunday.
Though no information was given as to which country it was that had made a purchase request due to military censorship, it was revealed that Hermes 450 drones were requested. The system is a medium-sized long endurance unmanned aerial vehicle produced by Elbit Systems.
After the Israeli rejection, the country bought drones from China. The Times of Israel reported that the state bought CAIG Wing Loong.
It also said that there are two Gulf states, which are currently known to be operating the Wing Loong, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
