The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said yesterday that 21 people were killed in the Israeli air strikes against Syria on Monday.
According to the observatory, the casualties included six Syrians who are members of the regime’s forces and loyal supporters while 12 were members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the three others were of other nationalities.
The observatory said the Israeli attack, which it described as “the most extensive and violent”, resulted in the “largest material losses in the Iranian warehouses and military sites on Syrian territory”.
The observatory explained that the three sorties conducted by the Israeli warplanes increased the number of casualties and caused great destruction.
Israeli army spokesperson Jonathan Conricus said the Israeli warplanes destroyed a number of Iranian intelligence sites, training bases and weapons caches which belong to the Quds Force, local media reported.
According to the Israeli army the attack was conducted in coordination with Russia.
