Under heavy security protection of occupation forces, scores of Jewish settlers of American origin yesterday stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards, Arab48 reported.

The news site reported that 67 Jewish settlers and foreign tourists stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam’s third holiest site.

According to the website, the settlers performed religious rituals and provoked Muslim and Palestinian worshippers.

Meanwhile, occupation forces deployed all around the mosque from the early hours of the morning and tightened restrictions imposed on the entry of Palestinians.

Israeli settlers carry out raids in to Al-Aqsa on an almost daily basis. They are accompanied by heavily armed Israeli military police, which impose severe restrictions on Palestinian and Muslim worshippers, with many banned from entering the holy site for months at a time as a result of their rejection of Israeli settler desecration of the area.
